This is the seventh event at Infineon Raceway. Only once has the winner gone on to win the championship (Dario Franchitti, 2009).
In 13 seasons, three drivers have won the 13th race of the season and also won the championship. Sam Hornish Jr. won at Texas in 2001, Dan Wheldon won at Pikes Peak in 2005 and Scott Dixon won at Edmonton in 2008.
